Students at Universal Kempo Karate are taught that war and killing are wrong but that it is also wrong to be unprepared to defend your family or yourself. It is always better to walk (or run) away from trouble but when the time comes, you should be able to defend yourself.

Universal Kempo Karate is an eclectic martial art. That means that it uses a variety of styles and techniques by incorporating an equal mixture of punching, kicking and grappling. It differs from some other arts in that it introduces the use of weapons from the very first day of training. Students study the use of the knife, nunchuka, staff, club and sickle.
